Kmath Synthesizer offers a unique approach to sound design through its use of mathematical expressions. This virtual analog modeling synthesizer is fully modular and features an intuitive interface that emphasizes algebraic formulas for audio synthesis and modulation. Users benefit from a clear overview of settings, enabling efficient and fluid sound creation, especially when adding modulations. Additionally, waveforms can be directly drawn with the mouse, providing an interactive and creative workflow.
Kmath includes a variety of sound shaping tools such as a low-pass filter with multiple poles, band-pass and high-pass filters, nine oscillators, envelopes, and wave motives that can be customized. It also offers nine assignable faders and random number generators to introduce variation and control, along with support for mathematical functions including sine, logarithm, and power. The synthesizer responds to velocity, modulation wheel, pitch bend, and aftertouch, with full assignability. Users can choose between polyphonic mode with up to eight voices, monophonic mode with portamento features, or a special monophonic mode known as MONOPOLY.
With over 50 factory presets and the ability to save custom programs, Kmath Synthesizer supports extensive sound exploration. The trial version is fully functional for 60 days, then switches to a renewable 48-hour use period, making it accessible for thorough testing. Its design encourages experimentation through mathematical sound manipulation, making it a compelling choice for musicians and sound designers seeking a fresh, creative tool.
