TAL-Pha is a software instrument that faithfully recreates the iconic sound of the 1980s Alpha Juno II synthesizer, including its rack-mounted counterpart, the MKS-50. This plug-in captures the warm, analog character of the original hardware while providing modern enhancements that expand its creative possibilities. TAL-Pha delivers a rich sonic palette, making it suitable for producers seeking that classic vintage tone blended with contemporary sound design options.
Beyond authentic sound reproduction, TAL-Pha offers a range of features that enhance its flexibility and performance. Users can detune, modulate, and sync the pulse oscillator section to shape dynamic textures, while the filter includes a resonance boost capable of self-oscillation for more expressive sounds. The built-in effects section provides delay, reverb, and a bell-shaped equalizer, allowing for polished and spatially rich outputs. Additionally, the arpeggiator supports multiple modes, and a stereo unison mode with up to seven voices adds depth and thickness to the sound.
Designed with both modern workflows and legacy integration in mind, TAL-Pha supports aftertouch and MPE for expressive control, as well as microtuning with tun file import and MTS Client compatibility. The plug-in can read and convert SysEx data from the original hardware, enabling it to serve as a controller or sound editor. Included are the original factory preset banks alongside over 380 new presets crafted by notable sound designers, providing a wealth of inspiration for any music production context.
