Midisquid offers live performers a powerful way to manage multiple standalone VST instruments or digital audio workstations (DAWs) during performances or jam sessions. It enables routing of MIDI signals through physical MIDI cables or any recognized MIDI output source, supporting up to 16 separate instruments or DAWs simultaneously. This setup allows seamless control and switching between different sound sources directly from your MIDI hardware controllers.
This software supports up to 16 MIDI controllers, each routed to virtual MIDI cables, giving you the flexibility to assign and switch instruments effortlessly. Using your keyboard’s MIDI control change buttons, you can instantly toggle between instruments or DAWs running on your desktop. Additionally, Midisquid allows splitting your keyboard into two zones, routing different instruments to the upper and lower sections, and supports multi-mode performance where multiple instruments can be triggered at once. Each keyboard zone can also have its own octave setting, enhancing creative possibilities.
Getting started with Midisquid is straightforward: connect your MIDI controllers or keyboards to the software, then open your standalone VST instruments or DAWs and assign them to receive MIDI signals from Midisquid’s output channels. The system supports complex routing setups, including multiple connections to the same instrument if desired. For optimal performance, it is recommended to use virtual MIDI cable software such as loopMIDI, which integrates smoothly with Midisquid and streamlines the signal routing process.
