isxysnth is a spectral cross synthesis and morphing effect designed for iPad and iPhone, available as a standalone app and AUv3 plugin. It processes two input signals by separating each into noise and tone components, enabling dynamic morphing between these elements. This approach offers a unique way to blend and transform sounds, creating rich, evolving textures that can enhance any audio project.
The effect includes freeze controls that produce spectral blurring for both input signals, along with two three-second delay lines that allow users to select different moments in time within the audio, adding depth and variation. These delay lines also support a freeze function, stopping recording to hold a specific sound in place. Users can process stereo sources by handling left and right channels independently or utilize the multi-input AUv3 mode, which accepts two stereo inputs. Currently, the standalone mode operates in mono.
Control is intuitive through three XY pads which adjust the balance of tone and noise components, the intensity of the freeze effect, and the degree of morphing between signals. Both inputs feature delay lines with freeze toggles, and all main controls support gesture recording and playback, allowing for expressive real-time manipulation and automation. This makes isxysnth a powerful tool for sound designers and musicians seeking innovative ways to reshape audio.
