The 360pan suite is a comprehensive plug-in package for Windows and macOS designed to create immersive ambisonics audio up to third order. It allows sound to be positioned in a full 360-degree sphere, providing a spatial experience that remains stable even as the listener moves their head. This makes it ideal for headphone playback and immersive media such as 360° video, VR, and panoramic content. The suite integrates seamlessly with digital audio workstations like Reaper and Pro Tools HD/Ultimate, enabling users to perform panning, distancing, and mixing directly within the video window of their DAW, eliminating the need to open separate plug-in interfaces.
360pan supports panning of mono, stereo, and four-channel inputs into ambisonics format, utilizing visual pucks that appear over the video display for intuitive spatial placement. The suite includes several specialized plug-ins, such as 360reverb, which offers ambisonics convolution reverb with adjustable distance and reverb width for each panned source. The reverb system works uniquely by creating private ambisonics input channels accessible only by 360pan instances, enabling precise control over spatial effects across multiple sound sources. Additional tools include ambisonics monitoring, limiting, format conversion between FuMa and AmbiX, and correction of signal alignment, all available in first, second, and third order channel configurations.
The 360pan suite is protected by a single license that can be activated via iLok hardware or software, offering flexibility depending on user preference. It supports the production needs of various 360 VR and immersive video platforms such as YouTube 360, Facebook 360, Oculus, and PlayStation VR, all of which rely on ambisonics to deliver spatial audio that reacts dynamically to viewer head movements. By offering outputs in the AmbiX format required by major platforms and supporting up to third order ambisonics, 360pan is well-suited for audio professionals working on spatial soundtracks for cutting-edge immersive experiences.
