Ultrabass is a specialized bass synthesizer crafted for electronic dance music styles such as uplifting trance, psytrance, goatrance, progressive, hardstyle, electrohouse, techno, and tech-house. Its design focuses on delivering stable, clean, and powerful basslines that fit perfectly within 4/4 rhythmic structures common to these genres. The synthesizer builds on the technology of Alien303, known for its ability to produce fast bass sequences without unwanted clicks or distortions, ensuring a precise and sharp sound ideal for energetic dance tracks.
The instrument features dual oscillators with a wide array of waveforms that offer sharp and linear digital tones without analog inconsistencies such as arbitrary detuning or phase issues. It includes extensive control over oscillator phase, octave, semitone, and spread, allowing for detailed shaping of the bass sound. Ultrabass also provides two filter modules that can be configured in serial or parallel modes, offering a range of analog-style filters modeled after classic hardware synthesizers. This setup enables producers to create bass sounds with rich tonal variation and character suitable for various electronic music sub-genres.
Additional features include fast linear amplitude and filter envelopes designed to eliminate clicks and artifacts often encountered in fast-paced basslines, a non-linear saturation unit that adds warmth and depth, and a bass boost section for heavy, full-bodied bass sounds. The saturation and boost controls allow for fine-tuning of the low-frequency spectrum to achieve the desired thickness and color. A comprehensive preset manager with over 75 presets across multiple bass categories is included, making it easy to find inspiring sounds and jumpstart the creative process.
