Time Razor is a multi-effect plugin designed to transform dual delay into a creative powerhouse by integrating additional effects and modulation options. It simplifies the process of crafting stutter, tape, panning, rhythmic, granulated, ducked, filtered, and Mid/Side sounds. Users can apply effects to dry, wet, or both signals, offering flexible sound shaping possibilities. The plugin features two delay lines with multiple operation modes including single, serial, and parallel, each equipped with controllable delay time transition modes—Repitch and Fade—allowing for unique sonic textures ranging from soft shifts to aggressive tape-like distortions.
Time Razor offers distinctive control over delay line mixing, enabling the first delay line to be heard alongside the second in serial mode, a feature uncommon in delay plugins. In parallel mode, each delay line has individual ducking and filter settings for dynamic and spatial effects. Additional effects such as chorus, phaser, bit crusher, and reverb can be applied to feedback paths or combined with dry/wet signals. The plugin supports stereo processing with independent left/right control, mid/side processing, tempo synchronization, and stereo width adjustments. Its modulation capabilities include envelope followers and LFOs with multiple targets, which can modulate each other, enhancing sound design options.
Designed for efficiency, Time Razor features an intuitive workflow with global menus for quick effect adjustments, minimizing the need to navigate multiple windows. The resizable GUI includes integrated help text for ease of use. Recent updates have introduced MIDI input support, two ADSR envelopes triggered by MIDI, retriggerable LFOs, and a preset randomizer with two 'magic dice' that facilitate fast preset creation. With over 200 presets included and more planned for future updates, Time Razor is a powerful tool for producers seeking innovative delay-based effects and modulation in their sound design toolkit.
