Strum is a Karplus-Strong synthesis instrument crafted entirely in assembly language, delivering efficient performance with a clean and intuitive user interface. Its design emphasizes clarity by providing visual feedback on active and inactive features, making it easy to navigate and control. This approach allows users to focus on sound creation without distraction, ensuring a streamlined workflow.

The plugin features two independent string generators that offer a broad range of sonic possibilities. The first oscillator emulates the characteristics of four common string types—nylon, bronze, steel, and flatwound—capturing their unique tonal qualities. The second oscillator offers basic waveform shapes such as sine, saw, triangle, and square, with adjustable parameters like tension and position to shape the sound further. Each generator has its own feedback, string length, attack/decay envelope, and vibrato controls, allowing for detailed customization.

Shared resources between the two oscillators include a comprehensive amplifier envelope, tremolo, timbre feedback, and a versatile multi-mode filter featuring various types such as lowpass, bandpass, highpass, bandreject, and resonant filters inspired by classic models. The filter cutoff can be modulated by a single LFO offering 17 waveform options, including traditional shapes and those derived from complex attractors. Additional effects like delay, chorus, and reverb, along with a soft knee limiter, complete the package to enhance and refine the sound.
