NANDroid is a noisebox synthesizer inspired by a hardware Lunetta-style modular circuit known as the TrigPulser. The synth generates unique and playful sounds through a simple design that combines four square wave oscillators feeding into a series of NAND logic gates. This approach creates complex, evolving textures that stand out for their experimental character and distinctive timbres.
Building upon the original concept, NANDroid introduces enhancements such as low-frequency oscillators and a filter section, expanding its sonic capabilities beyond the initial hardware model. While it shares a connection with the TrigPulser module found in the 'Loid's Cousin' ensemble, this synth takes a fresh direction by integrating modulation options that allow for more dynamic and expressive sound shaping.
The latest version includes MIDI note value as a modulation source, offering users additional control over the synth's parameters in real time. This feature enables more interactive performance possibilities and deeper customization of the sound, making NANDroid a creative tool for producers seeking experimental and noise-driven synthesis within their digital audio workstation.
