Moppeltron is a synthesizer based on the Discrete-Summation Formulae (DSF) synthesis method, offering sound design capabilities comparable to frequency modulation synthesis. It stands out by allowing precise control over the number of partials and the creation of one-sided spectra, providing unique tonal textures. Users can define two distinct DSF parameter sets, enabling detailed customization of sound characteristics through exact specification of partial counts, maximum frequency, and other parameters via text entry.
A key feature of Moppeltron is its morphing engine that seamlessly blends between two DSF parameter mixes. This morphing can be static or dynamic, controlled by an ADSR envelope or an LFO, which adds expressive modulation possibilities to the sounds. The synthesizer also includes essential tools such as an ADSR envelope for shaping amplitude, volume control, and an embedded piano keyboard for immediate playability, making sound creation intuitive and flexible.
Designed for performance and versatility, Moppeltron supports full MIDI control with easy assignment via a MIDI learn function, 16-voice polyphony or monophonic mode, adjustable pitch bend range, and note sliding for expressive playing. With 64 presets included, it offers a broad palette of ready-to-use sounds while allowing deep exploration for personalized sound design. This combination of precise spectral control and dynamic morphing makes Moppeltron a powerful tool for innovative synthesis.
