Hyperion is a modern digital modular synthesizer inspired by iconic 1980s artists like Vangelis, Jean-Michel Jarre, and Brian Eno. Designed for sound creators seeking deep sonic exploration, it offers flexible modular patching with an intuitive interface that keeps complex signal routing approachable. Users can build intricate patches with up to 16 layers, each capable of polyphonic expression and MPE support, allowing rich and dynamic soundscapes. Macro controls enable unified modulation across layers while facilitating inter-layer communication through modulation data and auxiliary audio buses.
With a broad range of synthesis methods, Hyperion allows quick layering and splitting of polyphonic patches, each featuring its own chord, arpeggiation, and effects chains. Its powerful oscillator section includes classic digital and virtual analog waveforms with unison detuning and wave-shaping capabilities, alongside advanced wave-sequencing and multi-operator FM synthesis. Additional sound sources such as physical modeling, sample playback, and vector synthesis expand the sonic palette. Comprehensive voice processing tools provide multiple filter types, distortion effects, granulation, and modulation options, enabling precise control over tone and texture.
Hyperion also excels in effect processing with a suite of true-stereo bus effects that include reverbs, compressors, chorus, phaser, and granular effects, all modulate-able via touch-oriented vector mixers. Its extensive modulation system features ADSR envelopes, looping envelopes, LFOs with beat sync, and a variety of data processing nodes for generative and algorithmic control. MIDI integration supports up to 16 channels, allowing data and control to be sent internally between layers or externally to other instruments and effects. This combination of powerful synthesis, flexible modulation, and advanced effects makes Hyperion a rich platform for creative sound design.
