HoRNet CLMS (Constant Loudness Monitor System) addresses the challenge of loudness perception during mixing and mastering. Since the human ear perceives frequencies differently at varying loudness levels, this can lead to inaccurate decisions when applying effects like equalizers or compressors. CLMS ensures a consistent loudness level throughout the monitoring process, helping producers maintain balanced and precise mixes without being misled by volume changes.
The system operates through two interconnected plugins: HoRNetCLMS_Send and HoRNetCLMS_Receive. The Send plugin measures the loudness level of individual tracks before processing, while the Receive plugin, placed at the end of the master chain, adjusts the overall gain to maintain the original loudness. This setup allows multiple Send instances across a session, facilitating seamless communication and consistent loudness control across all tracks.
HoRNet CLMS also includes a loudness normalization feature that lets users set a target level and analyze the track to automatically adjust its volume accordingly. It supports real-time loudness adjustments with clear visual feedback on both sender and receiver plugins. Compatible with Mac OS X and Windows, CLMS works in various plugin formats including Audio Units, VST, VST3, and AAX, offering 64-bit support for modern DAWs.
