CubicPadSynth is a wavetable synthesizer designed to deliver smooth and rich sounds across the entire MIDI note range. It uses the PADsynth algorithm to create oscillator tables, offering a unique overtone-based interface for shaping the wavetable profile. The synthesizer features a large wavetable length of 2^18 samples, with 136 wavetables prepared to cover frequencies from 0 Hz up to approximately 21,100 Hz, ensuring detailed and expressive sound generation.

This synth employs cubic interpolation, which allows for exceptionally smooth playback even at very low frequencies that are typically inaudible. It includes ADSR envelopes for gain, low-pass filter, and pitch, enhancing dynamic control over the sound. The low-pass filter is based on wavetable shifting rather than traditional IIR or FIR designs, providing a distinct filtering approach. Additionally, a tempo-synced LFO for pitch modulation is available, with a customizable waveform that can be drawn directly by the user.

CubicPadSynth supports up to 128 voices, with a maximum of 16 voices available for unison mode, enabling complex and lush soundscapes. While the Linux build is optimized for Ubuntu 22.04, build instructions exist for other distributions, and the macOS version is currently experimental. The source code is openly accessible, encouraging collaboration and development within the community.
