Callisto version 1.8 brings style-based accompaniment to your computer, combining traditional arranger features with modern digital workflow. It includes familiar mechanisms such as intros, fills, endings, and main variation buttons that switch between ten variations, following the classic arranger method. Each instrument in the style is supported by ten sequencers that generate MIDI sequences, which can be manually programmed by drawing notes in the dedicated piano roll editor and saved for future use.
This version introduces enhanced control options, including one-finger and fingered chord switching, a keyboard split function, a start-on-key-press feature, and multi-solo mode. Additional features like automatic crash detection, hold variation mode, and a tempo knob offer greater creative flexibility. Users can assign hardware MIDI controllers to control key buttons and knobs through MIDI learn functionality, making live performance and production more intuitive. A convenient jump-to menu allows seamless transitions between variations, ensuring smooth progression during playback.
Callisto 1.8 also adds a global transpose button along with semitone and octave controls for style instruments, plus a new floating style editing window for easier access and smoother chord transitions. It is available both as a VST instrument plugin and as a standalone application, which can be integrated with any digital audio workstation via virtual MIDI cables. This dual availability offers users flexible options for incorporating Callisto into their music production setups.
