Blue Synth PM is a free virtual synthesizer designed around phase modulation synthesis, capable of creating rich pads and dynamic lead sounds. It operates as both a standalone application and a VST instrument compatible with popular digital audio workstations like Sonar, Cubase, and Ableton. This flexibility allows users to integrate it seamlessly into their preferred production environments.

The synthesizer features two oscillators that generate carrier waves, each of which can be modulated by a sine wave to shape the sound. Users can select different carrier waveforms and apply adjustable envelope controls including attack, decay, sustain, and release to shape the amplitude. Phase modulation frequency can be finely tuned, and oscillator two offers detuning options to add depth and movement. The output signal is processed through two filter banks with adjustable cutoff, resonance, and envelope controls, providing further sound sculpting possibilities.

Blue Synth PM includes 10 factory presets created by Yoa, with a total of 20 program slots available in each bank for user presets. Programs and banks can be saved as text files or in standard plugin formats for easy recall and sharing. The standalone version requires initial MIDI and audio configuration, whereas the VST version inherits these settings from the host. This free synth encourages user feedback and contributions, welcoming new presets and ideas to enhance its capabilities.
