The HG-2 MS is a sophisticated Mid/Side version of the renowned HG-2 saturation plugin, expanding its capabilities with dedicated Mono mixing and Stereo buss options. It introduces an enhanced filter section offering highpass, lowpass, bandpass, and bandstop filters, allowing precise tailoring of saturation for each channel. This flexibility enables producers to shape their sound with a broader palette of tonal colors and saturation styles than before.

This plugin emulates four different vacuum tube stages arranged in series and parallel, combining rich harmonic textures to add warmth and character to mixes and individual tracks. Separate gain controls for the emulated 6U8A pentode and triode tubes provide detailed control over the tube saturation, while the Density control drives the tubes harder to create thicker, more powerful sounds without altering their balance or output level. The Calibration feature mimics the original hardware’s internal trim adjustment, offering Dark, Normal, or Bright tonal variations to match any production style.

With Mid/Side processing, the HG-2 MS offers advanced control over stereo image, allowing users to saturate the sides while keeping the center clean and punchy or experiment with different saturation types across channels for creative effects. Additional controls such as the Air knob add shimmering high-frequency detail to vocals, strings, and full mixes, while the Mix control blends dry and saturated signals for a perfect balance of warmth and clarity.
