Alpha-Ray is a polyphonic virtual analog synthesizer featuring three oscillators per voice and up to 10 voices of polyphony. It offers a flexible filter section that includes a switchable main filter between ladder and state variable modes, combined with a 6 dB high-pass filter to create a band-pass effect with adjustable bandwidth. The synthesizer also includes an integrated polyphonic overdrive, allowing users to add rich distortion textures directly within the instrument.

Designed to deliver a broad range of virtual analog sounds, Alpha-Ray excels at producing powerful, heavily distorted lead tones as well as classic VA timbres. The instrument provides two main oscillators, a sub-oscillator, and three low-frequency oscillators for modulation, including tempo-synced and pitch wheel-controlled LFOs. Its sound-shaping capabilities are enhanced by features such as oscillator frequency modulation, oscillator sync, and auto portamento, making it suitable for dynamic and expressive performances.

Alpha-Ray also includes four built-in effects: overdrive, chorus, delay, and reverb, each with multiple modes and tempo synchronization options for delay and chorus. These effects can be fine-tuned to complement the synth’s aggressive or smooth sound palette. While the free version provides full functionality except for saving effect parameters, unlocking the full version enables saving these settings per patch for greater workflow efficiency, making Alpha-Ray a powerful tool for producing rich, textured sounds across various genres.
