2RuleSynth is a software synthesizer that combines classical synthesis methods including subtractive synthesis, frequency modulation (FM), and ring modulation. It features two independent oscillators with a selection of waveforms such as sine, saw, triangle, square, and white noise. Each oscillator is equipped with dedicated controls for waveform selection, volume, fine-tuning, and octave adjustment, providing a broad palette of sonic possibilities. The synthesizer supports both mono and polyphonic modes with up to eight voices.
Every oscillator includes its own filter and amplifier sections with ADSR envelope controls, allowing precise shaping of the sound's attack, decay, sustain, and release phases. In addition, each oscillator is outfitted with low-frequency oscillators (LFOs) that can modulate amplitude, filter cutoff, and pitch, with tempo synchronization options. The filters are inspired by Moog-style self-resonant designs, offering low pass, high pass, and band pass modes. The sound engine also includes effects such as reverb, delay synced to tempo, chorus, and waveshape distortion to further enhance the tonal character.
2RuleSynth stands out with its unique soundscape capabilities, ranging from classic analog tones to experimental textures suitable for musique concrète styles. The inclusion of a randomize button enables quick generation of new sounds, encouraging creative exploration. With 49 factory presets available, users can dive into a wide variety of sounds right away. The interface also provides spectrum and waveform displays, giving visual feedback that complements the auditory experience.
