XS-707 is a rompler designed to faithfully reproduce the iconic sounds of the TR-707 drum machine, sampled from the EMU EMAX 12-bit sampler. This instrument captures the character of the original hardware by using an extensive sampling process that includes 127 velocity layers for each drum element. This detailed sampling preserves the nuances of the EMAX's analog filter, resulting in authentic drum sounds with rich tonal qualities.

The samples were recorded through an analog graphic equalizer to enhance desirable frequencies, followed by a tube preamp stage to impart warmth and depth to the final sound. With a total of 1905 samples at 24-bit 44.1 kHz quality, the XS-707 offers high-resolution audio playback that maintains the vintage vibe while delivering modern clarity. The plugin features 16 assignable outputs, flexible pitch bend control with a range of plus or minus 2 semitones, and low-pass/high-pass filter options for further sound shaping.

The package includes both VST2 and VST3 formats, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of digital audio workstations. However, it should be noted that Mac users running Catalina or later versions may experience authorization issues with this plugin.
