WoodValvet is a tube emulated saturator designed to add rich harmonic content and warmth to your audio tracks. It features three distinct tube stages, each with independent drive controls and selectable tube types, allowing users to craft unique tonal characteristics. Stages two and three can be arranged in series or parallel, providing a range of harmonic textures, while the combination of class A and class AB circuits ensures dynamic and expressive saturation. An input band filter focuses harmonic enhancement on specific frequency ranges, complemented by adjustable slope settings and out-of-band gain control to fine-tune the sound.
Further sonic shaping is possible through a post-tube lowpass filter that reduces high-frequency harmonics, and an adjustable tube bias control in the second stage offers additional harmonic variation. WoodValvet includes a 'Constant Level' feature to maintain consistent output volume, alongside an LFO for modulating drive and filter parameters, adding movement and character to the effect. The side chain input provides dynamic drive modulation, capable of either boosting or ducking signals, while an automatic gain input mode ensures optimal signal levels even with quieter sources. Stereo spread and output phase controls enhance spatial imaging and phase coherence.
WoodValvet also supports multi-channel bus operation, allowing individual channel weighting for precise drive control in surround or 3D audio setups. Visual feedback of generated harmonics aids in sound design, and oversampling options reduce aliasing artifacts for cleaner saturation. Additional features include an intermodulation control for enhanced distortion effects, a brick-wall limiter to prevent clipping, and a DC blocking filter to maintain signal integrity. These comprehensive tools make WoodValvet a powerful saturator for adding warmth, depth, and harmonic complexity across a variety of audio applications.
