Voctopus is an 8-band real-time vocoder plugin designed to deliver rich and dynamic vocal effects. It features an 8-band filter bank equipped with adjustable attack, decay, and an additional carrier gain control, allowing precise shaping of the vocoder’s tonal character. Separate multi-filters for both modulator and carrier signals provide further sound sculpting capabilities, enhancing the clarity and texture of processed audio.

Beyond its vocoder functions, Voctopus includes a fully playable and automatable onboard synthesizer. This synth boasts two dual oscillators with dual detune options, offering a range of wave shapes such as sine, saw, triangle, and square waves. Additional sound design tools include a sub-oscillator linked to the first oscillator, a noise generator with modulation possibilities, and advanced features like frequency modulation and ring modulation to create complex tones.

Voctopus also provides comprehensive modulation and mixing options, including two LFOs with multiple wave shapes and tempo-sync capabilities, plus a modulation matrix that supports in-depth control over the modulator signal. The mixer section balances outputs from oscillators, modulator, and carrier with pan and dry/wet controls. Global parameters such as pitch-bend, glide, and mode settings ensure expressive performance and seamless integration within any music production workflow.
