VariSaturator is an audio effect plug-in designed to enhance audio tracks by applying saturation effects that boost loudness without proportionally increasing peak levels. It adds subtle harmonic coloration that helps tracks sound more polished and prominent. This makes it suitable for a wide range of audio material, including drum, bass, vocal tracks, sub-mixes, and full mixes.

The plug-in includes two sequential saturation modules operating in two-band mode. The valve saturation module emulates the asymmetric characteristics of a valve amplifier cascade, delivering rich sonic qualities without introducing noise, phase shifts, or high-frequency roll-off. The second module is a digital waveshaping saturator with feedback topology that provides smooth saturation and harmonic enhancement while increasing signal level.

VariSaturator supports multi-channel processing, internal channel routing, channel grouping, and mid/side processing, all handled with 64-bit floating point precision. It features a preset manager, undo/redo history, A/B comparisons, and contextual hints for ease of use. While it does not perform brick-wall limiting, it works effectively as a final loudness booster before mastering limiters. Caution is advised when applying saturation to preserve the original sonic character.
