TesslaSE delivers subtle signal coloration that enhances audio by adding warmth and dimension without overpowering the original sound. Designed to refine transients and enrich the stereo field, it brings the character of analog hardware into a digital environment. This effect is ideal for selective use during mixing, providing a gentle polish that helps tracks sit better within a mix while maintaining a low CPU footprint and nearly zero latency.
The mkIII version introduces several key improvements that expand creative control and audio quality. The high-frequency control has been transformed into a color control for the transformer circuit, allowing finer adjustment of the transformer’s tonal characteristics. The previous depth control has been replaced with a feature that enables users to shape curves for saturation or limiting, giving more flexibility in how the effect processes sound. Enhanced aliasing suppression is achieved through Anti-Derivative Anti-Aliasing combined with internal oversampling, resulting in cleaner output and reduced digital artifacts.
Additional enhancements in the mkIII update include refined transformer modeling that improves low-frequency performance and interaction with the saturation stage for a more cohesive sound. Calibration and gain staging have been optimized to -12dBFS to ensure better headroom and consistency. This updated version carries a new plug-in ID, allowing it to run alongside previous versions in parallel workflows, making it easy to integrate into existing projects without compatibility concerns.
