The Syntronik Minimod draws inspiration from iconic Moog synthesizers, including the Minimoog Model D, Modular Moog, and Moog Voyager. The Modular Moog was groundbreaking as the first commercially produced voltage-controlled synthesizer, featuring independent modules like oscillators, filters, and mixers that musicians could combine to craft personalized sounds. This modular design laid the foundation for classic analog synthesis and shaped the development of future synths.
The Minimoog transformed the large modular systems into a portable and pre-configured instrument prized for its rich analog tones. It features three oscillators with selectable waveforms and a noise generator, all routed through Moog’s signature 4-pole transistor ladder low-pass filter. This design produces warm basses, leads, and unique whistle sounds that have been heard in legendary tracks, such as Rick Wakeman’s famous lead on “Catherine Parr.” The Voyager updated this classic with expanded modulation options, a dedicated LFO, program storage, and MIDI compatibility, bringing vintage warmth into the modern era.
Syntronik Minimod offers over 2 GB of sampled content, encompassing more than 5,000 samples across 143 instruments that capture the spirit and sonic character of these historic Moog synths. Its rich sound palette has been embraced by artists spanning genres and generations, making it an essential tool for producers seeking authentic analog textures. This instrument is included in several collections, providing flexible options for integrating classic synth sounds into any studio setup.
