Soothe2 is a dynamic resonance suppressor designed to automatically detect and reduce problematic resonances in audio signals. By applying targeted reduction only where and when necessary, it smooths harsh frequencies without compromising the surrounding tonal balance. This approach preserves the natural timbre of the original sound, delivering transparent treatment with minimal artifacts. Soothe2 is effective in managing issues such as harshness, sibilance, muddiness, boominess, and proximity effect, making it suitable for a wide range of sound sources including vocals, guitars, pianos, and synths.
Enhanced from its predecessor, Soothe2 extends its frequency range down to 20 Hz, allowing precise control over low-end resonances and rumble. It offers two processing modes—soft for transparent and easy adjustments, and hard for tackling extreme resonances. Additional features include adjustable attack and release parameters to preserve transients, mid/side processing options, low latency performance, and external sidechain input. These improvements make it a powerful tool for audio mixing, post-production, sound design, and mastering tasks, whether applied on individual tracks or buses.
Designed for quick setup and intuitive use, Soothe2 features a modern interface that clearly displays the affected frequency areas and the amount of reduction in real time. The delta function offers instant insight into what the plugin is removing, helping users fine-tune their settings efficiently. Developed through years of research, Soothe2 employs advanced algorithms that avoid common issues such as pre-ringing and crossover artifacts, ensuring a high-quality, musical result. Compatible with both Windows and macOS, it requires an iLok account for activation but does not need a physical dongle.
