Snapper is an intuitive audio utility for Mac that instantly displays the waveform of any selected audio file in Finder. It offers seamless playback options, including spacebar control, double-click play, and auto-play upon selection. Users can also adjust playback speed for precise audio previewing, making it easy to analyze sound files without opening a full audio editor.
The software allows users to highlight specific sections of audio within the waveform and perform a variety of actions. You can drag and drop these selections to create new files or insert them directly into compatible sequencers and audio editors. Snapper supports exporting selections in multiple formats such as MP3, OGG, MP4, FLAC, AIFF, WAV, BWF, and M4A. Additional features include splitting stereo files into separate left and right channels, converting files for quick email attachments, and handling audio from CDs, movies, and various compressed formats.
Supporting over 50 audio file formats, Snapper works with complex audio content including 192 kHz files, 5.1 surround sound, red book audio, and metadata like loops, markers, timestamps, and album artwork. It integrates closely with Finder and iTunes, automatically displaying audio waveforms when files or songs are selected. For enhanced workflow, Snapper enables drag-and-drop spotting directly to popular digital audio workstations such as Pro Tools, Nuendo, Logic, and Cubase. The software offers a fully functional 100-day demo period, after which activation requires a personal code.
