These include recreations of American and German tube preamps from the 1950s and 1960s, British discrete console preamps, and modern JFet designs. This variety allows producers to add warmth, presence, and character reminiscent of legendary recording studios.

In addition to pre amplifier emulations, URS Saturation features two analog tape head algorithms that simulate the nonlinear saturation typical of classic tape machines running at different speeds. This effect smooths high-frequency transients, particularly enhancing drums and percussive instruments with a natural warmth.
