s(M)exoscope is an oscilloscope VST plugin designed to provide clear visual monitoring of audio waveforms. It offers users the ability to observe the shape and behavior of audio signals in real time, enhancing the process of sound design and audio analysis within digital audio workstations. The plugin is available in two versions: a Standard insert effect and a Modular version optimized for modular VST hosts.
The plugin features adjustable display controls that let you customize the time scale and amplitude of the waveform display for precise observation. Various retrigger modes, including Free, Internal, Rising, and Falling, are available, with the option to set a retrigger threshold. The Modular version includes an External mode and additional options such as Sync Redraw, Freeze, DC-Kill, and Channel selection, allowing for greater flexibility in different audio environments.
Beyond visualization, s(M)exoscope includes a waveform analysis tool that measures key attributes based on a selected portion of the waveform. By placing a marker on the display, users can obtain detailed information such as the selection's amplitude in linear and decibel scales, its length in samples, seconds, and milliseconds, and the frequency assuming the selection represents one cycle. This analytical capability makes it a valuable tool for detailed examination of audio signals.
