10k+ plugins and counting. It's free.

PSP MixSaturator2 is part of the PSP MixPack2 collection, which includes six high-resolution audio processors designed to enhance the quality of digital audio tracks and mixes. Unlike plugins modeled after specific analog hardware, these processors draw inspiration from the characteristics and features of various analog circuits. Their purpose is to address the common issues of sterility and harshness in digital recordings, delivering a warmer and more natural sound. The entire signal chain operates with 64-bit double precision floating point algorithms, supporting sample rates up to 192kHz for pristine audio fidelity.
PSP MixSaturator2 emulates the warm saturation effects found in analog devices such as tape recorders and valve circuits. It enriches audio by adding harmonics, applying dedicated filtering, and incorporating dynamic processing. The plugin offers three distinct algorithms that simulate different aspects of analog saturation. The bass frequency processing algorithm adds low-frequency harmonics and enhances the characteristic low-frequency bump typical of analog tape. The treble frequency processing algorithm replicates tape saturation and the subtle high-frequency roll-off experienced at higher levels without introducing excessive distortion or aliasing.
In addition to frequency-specific processing, PSP MixSaturator2 features an overall saturation algorithm that allows users to select from seven unique non-linearity curves. These curves capture the sonic qualities of valve devices, analog tape machines, and digital clipping, providing a range of tonal options to shape the audio character. PSP MixPack2 also includes other specialized tools such as MixBass2, MixTreble2, MixPressor2, MixGate2, and MixSync2, making it a comprehensive suite for enhancing and refining digital mixes.
