Prophecy for Mac/Win brings back the distinctive physical modeling sound of the 1990s by faithfully replicating the original Prophecy's MOSS (Multi-Oscillator Synthesis System) synthesis engine. It features five of the seven oscillator types from the original hardware, allowing users to shape sounds with a nonlinear wave shaper offering CLIP or RESO modes. This design provides a broad sonic palette, from subtle enhancements to radically transformed tones. Additional elements like a sub oscillator and noise generator can be mixed independently across two mixer sections, while the amp section can feed back into the mixer for even more complex sound design possibilities.

The software includes 128 preset programs across 14 categories that span a wide variety of musical styles, alongside user program slots and a favorites bank for quick access to preferred sounds. Two expansion packs originally available for the hardware version are also included: ANALOG & VINTAGE, which offers 64 analog-inspired bass, lead, and special effect sounds, and MODERN MODELS, featuring 64 programs with acoustic instrument emulations, wind instrument tones, and expressive synthesis capabilities. These presets provide a rich foundation for creating unique and dynamic sounds.

Designed with a user-friendly interface tailored specifically for software, the GUI divides controls into three logical sections: SYNTH, FX, and ARP. This layout makes sound creation intuitive and efficient, streamlining workflow for both beginners and experienced producers. The dual signal routing paths further expand creative options, ensuring a wide range of sonic textures.
