Phasewaver is a phase distortion synthesizer designed to produce rich and complex sounds by dynamically altering the harmonic content of a carrier waveform through modulation. This process creates a broad frequency spectrum ideal for crafting synth pads, keys, leads, basses, atmospheric textures, ambient soundscapes, and unique sound effects. The synthesizer features two phase distortion oscillators with a selection of 16 single-cycle waveforms, including classic and resonant wave shapes, allowing for intricate sound design possibilities.

The instrument offers comprehensive control over its oscillators with waveform envelope generators and amplitude envelope modulators, each providing adjustable stages such as attack, decay, sustain, and release. Additional tuning capabilities include octave shifts, semitone adjustments, fine-tuning, and detuning options to shape the tonal characteristics precisely. Its filter section includes a state variable filter with selectable low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and band-rejection modes, along with cutoff, resonance, and filter strength controls that influence the warmth and brightness of the sound.

Phasewaver also incorporates modulation effects like low-frequency oscillators for vibrato and tremolo, as well as reverb, delay, and flanger effects that enhance spatial depth and movement within the sound. The drive phase modulation adds extra distortion depth, while monophonic mode with glide provides expressive pitch transitions. MIDI automation support and a preset manager with 40 internal presets make this synthesizer highly adaptable for studio and live performance environments.
