Peti is a hybrid FM synthesis instrument designed to replicate the unique sound of the Harmonium, a reed organ commonly known as the pump organ. This instrument is widely associated with North Indian music but also finds use in pop and rock genres. While Peti shines in capturing the essence of the Harmonium, it extends beyond by offering a rich palette of reed organ sounds, making it suitable for various musical styles.
With the ability to emulate numerous reed organ variants, Peti can produce tones reminiscent of accordions, pipe organs, and even the melodica, a staple in reggae and dub music. Its advanced synthesis engine provides users with extensive sound shaping options, enabling the creation of authentic and expressive reed organ timbres that adapt well to diverse musical contexts.
Peti offers complete control over a simulated bellows mechanism through eleven different modes, allowing for both automatic and manual pumping styles that influence the sound dynamically. Additional features include dual reed bank simulators, body resonance emulation, bellows noise, musette tremolo effects, and key coupling, which triggers multiple voices from a single note. These elements combine to deliver a deeply immersive and customizable reed organ experience.
