10k+ plugins and counting. It's free.
Pastfabric II builds on the foundation of its predecessor by offering a granular reverb processor that operates in real time to transform any sound fed into its buffer. Drawing inspiration from microsound techniques and experimental tape splicing, this plugin merges analog warmth with digital precision to create a palette of nostalgic glitches and shimmering ambient textures. Its ability to reshape audio makes it a powerful tool for crafting unique soundscapes and intricate sonic patterns.
The plugin captures incoming audio into a 10-second buffer, where a granulator and algorithmic reverb work together to manipulate the sound. Users can control the scanning length through the Past parameter and influence the randomization of the splicing using the Motion control. Each audio splice can be chopped, glitched, or sustained with the Duration and Length settings, allowing the creation of blurred ambience or rhythmic repetitions. This granular approach to splicing enables complex and evolving textures from even the simplest audio inputs.
Beyond splicing, Pastfabric II features an expressive effects section that enhances the spatial and tonal qualities of the processed audio. The Haze effect introduces algorithmic reverb to diffuse the sound source, while the Fabric effect applies analog-style aging, adding wow, flutter, and saturation to the slices. Compatible with any VST and Audio Units host, the plugin comes with a collection of factory presets to jumpstart creative exploration, making it an essential addition for producers seeking rich, textured sound design.
