Organteq is a cutting-edge virtual organ instrument that captures the intricate physics of flue and reed pipes through advanced physical modeling. Unlike traditional sample-based organs, Organteq generates sound in real time by simulating the nonlinear interaction between air vibrations inside the pipes and the excitation mechanisms such as air jets and beating reeds. This approach delivers a dynamic and expressive playing experience that reflects the natural attack, sustain, and release characteristics found in real pipe organs.
The instrument includes over a thousand digitally modeled pipes inspired by the renowned Cavaillé-Coll organs, distributed across three manual keyboards with five octaves each and a pedal keyboard featuring thirty-two notes. It accurately reproduces spatial placement of pipes corresponding to their keyboards, enhancing the immersive quality of the sound. Additional details such as key action noises and the subtle variability of pipe attack transients contribute to a highly authentic and lively organ performance.
Organteq offers flexible tuning and volume adjustments on a per-note basis, along with convenient MIDI mapping and learning features for seamless integration with hardware controllers. Its reverb module allows customization of the acoustic environment, ranging from dry to expansive spaces. The instrument is remarkably compact, requiring only 15 megabytes of storage compared to the large file sizes typical of sample libraries. Compatible with MacOS, Windows, and Linux, Organteq functions as both a standalone application and a 64-bit plugin in AU and VST hosts.
