Noisetar is a synthesizer focused on creating a wide range of noise-based sounds through purely mathematical generation, avoiding the use of samples or wavetables. This approach allows smooth and continuous morphing between different sounds, controlled by twelve adjustable parameters. The output can be further refined using built-in tools such as two filters, a chorusing reverb, and a stereo enhancer, offering extensive sound-shaping capabilities within a compact interface.
Designed with melodic potential in mind, Noisetar features a bandpass filter tuned to incoming MIDI notes, enabling users to play noise sounds in a musical context. Modulation options include an ADSR envelope and keytracking with seven modulation targets, supporting dynamic and expressive sound design. The synth supports polyphony, allowing up to ten voices to be played simultaneously, and is optimized for DAW parameter automation to integrate seamlessly into complex production workflows.
Noisetar offers a unique sonic palette ranging from digital noises, crackles, and rattles to organic textures like wood fire crepitations and foot stomps. Its sound spectrum also includes booming drones and delicate hisses, making it a valuable addition to any producer's toolkit. Despite its rich capabilities, the synth is lightweight, requiring less than 2MB of storage. The user interface is resizable and customizable, with on-screen tooltips to enhance usability and workflow efficiency.
