The Niveau Filter offers the filter section from Elysia's mpressor plug-in as a standalone, free plugin designed to enhance your audio with simplicity and precision. It excels at shaping the overall tonal balance of a signal by adjusting the relationship between high and low frequencies, making it ideal for various creative and corrective tasks. This tool is especially effective when classic shelving filters prove too basic and parametric filters are overly complex, providing a perfect middle ground.

With two intuitive controls, the Niveau Filter allows for quick and effective sound shaping. Users can boost high frequencies while simultaneously attenuating lows, or vice versa, by adjusting the gain around a selectable center frequency. This approach works much like a set of scales, balancing tone to bring clarity to muffled snares, tame harshness from active pickups, or craft distinctive Dub and LoFi textures. The filter's design enables seamless sonic transformations with minimal effort.

The center frequency is continuously adjustable between 26 Hz and 2.2 kHz, and can extend up to 22 kHz with the x10 switch enabled, providing broad tonal control. At the extremes of the gain control, the filter shifts its character: turning fully counter-clockwise produces a low pass filter effect, while fully clockwise results in a high pass filter.
