A key element of Mutant Koto is its use of a warped infinite impulse response lattice filter, which can be assigned either to the coupled signal or to the output stage. This filter, with a maximum order of 30, includes presets designed to approximate the resonant qualities of traditional instruments and incorporates formant shaping alongside randomized filter options to enhance sonic complexity.

Additional functionality includes support for microtuning and MIDI continuous controller input, allowing for expressive and precise parameter adjustments during performance or production.
