MIDI-Transformer is a straightforward VST plugin designed to modify and reroute incoming MIDI signals with ease. By placing the plugin within your VST chain, you can select both input and output sources through simple dropdown menus, allowing seamless control over which MIDI messages are processed and where they are sent. This setup enables users to customize MIDI data flow without complex routing configurations.

During playback, the plugin captures incoming MIDI messages from the chosen input source and transforms them before outputting the adjusted signals to the selected destination. For example, if the input is assigned to a particular control change (CC) number, the plugin will convert all values received on that CC and send the transformed data as a different CC message. The interface visually represents this process with a vertical line on a curve display that shows the last input value and its corresponding output, providing immediate feedback on how the MIDI data is being altered.

MIDI-Transformer offers curve editing tools that allow precise shaping of the transformation function. Users can adjust curve nodes with either one or two handles depending on whether the curve type is quadratic or cubic, giving detailed control over how input values map to outputs. The plugin’s state is automatically saved and recalled by the host DAW, ensuring that your modifications are preserved between sessions, although it does not include an internal preset manager at this time.
