Matrix 12 V is a software emulation of the legendary Oberheim Matrix 12 synthesizer, widely regarded as one of the most iconic analog synths ever produced. Celebrated for its rich heritage and distinctive sound, the original hardware was favored by renowned musicians such as Joe Zawinul, Michael Brecker, Keith Emerson, and Vince Clarke. This virtual instrument captures the essence of the original, delivering a classic synthesis experience with modern flexibility.

The synthesizer features two oscillators offering a variety of waveforms including triangle, sawtooth, and variable-width pulse with pulse-width modulation. Oscillator 2 includes a white noise generator, while Oscillator 1 supports frequency modulation for added sonic complexity. The single filter section provides 15 modes, ranging from multiple low pass and high pass filters to band pass, notch, phase shift, and unique combination modes. This extensive filter selection allows for a wide spectrum of tonal shaping possibilities.

A powerful modulation matrix with 27 sources and 47 destinations allows for deep sound design, incorporating envelopes, LFOs, ramps, and various performance controls such as velocity and pressure.
