This vocoder uses a powerful FFT-based 1024-channel analysis to transform sound by applying the spectral characteristics of one input to another. The modulator input is typically a vocal source, which is analyzed and then used to shape an external carrier signal. The carrier can be any sound such as synth pads, guitar, drums, or pink noise, allowing for creative sound design. An internal MIDI-driven synthesizer is also available, optimized specifically for clear speech reproduction, enhancing the natural quality of vocal effects.
The plugin offers comprehensive control over sound shaping, including polyphony with unlimited voices, adjustable detuning, and stereo width. Additional features include blending high frequencies with noise to create realistic sibilants, a noise gate to clean up the modulator input, and a soft-knee limiter to control dynamics smoothly. Stereo reverb is built-in to add space and depth, while LED indicators provide visual feedback on signal routing and processing status. The interface includes octave, semitone, and fine-tuning controls to further refine the sound.
Recent updates have enhanced performance and usability with a 64-bit VST3 version, extended modulator pitch range, and improved sibilant detection for more natural transitions. Latency has been reduced and reported to the host, and the GUI has been revamped for better user experience. The internal synth now features dynamic response improvements, portamento, and delayed vibrato options, complemented by a new reverb engine based on MVerb 7B. These continuous optimizations make this vocoder a powerful tool for transforming vocals and other sounds with clarity and precision.
