HoRNet AnalogStage MK2 is a console emulation plugin designed to capture the distinctive sonic qualities associated with analog equipment, such as saturation, hiss, and nonlinear frequency response. It offers three different emulation modes that replicate the characteristics of operational amplifiers, transistor circuits, and tube technology. Each mode provides a unique tonal color, from the clean and modern sound of op-amps to the warm, dynamic saturation of vintage tubes, with advanced transformer modeling included in the transistor and tube modes to enhance authenticity.
The plugin includes flexible parameter linking options that allow users to apply settings independently, within groups of up to eight instances, or globally across all instances. This flexibility is complemented by a stereo VU meter calibrated to -18 dBFS, aiding users in precise gain staging. An innovative auto gain feature further simplifies the mixing process by automatically adjusting levels. Additionally, the age slider simulates the natural wear of analog components, modifying both saturation and frequency response to emulate the effect of aging hardware.
AnalogStage MK2 also provides practical features like high-pass and low-pass filters, phase reversal, and a mic mode that adds a 20 dB boost to drive the preamp harder for more distortion. It supports intelligent oversampling up to 4x and processes internally at 192 kHz to ensure high-quality sound reproduction. The plugin boasts a sharp, vector-based user interface that is resizable and optimized for Apple Silicon M1, compatible with both macOS and Windows in multiple plugin formats, making it a powerful tool for music producers seeking an authentic analog console sound.
