Heavier7Strings is a seven-string virtual guitar instrument designed to deliver authentic metal-style tones with powerful performance capabilities. It features a custom sampler that enables direct disk streaming and infinite sustain, ensuring smooth and realistic note playback. Advanced digital signal processing offers dynamic tone adjustments, including random timbre variations, pitch bend effects, and emulated string tension, resonance, and pickup switching. The instrument also supports precise vibrato control through sample-based LFOs with adjustable frequency and depth, while automatically determining string and fret positions for accurate articulation.
The instrument’s intelligent playback engine enhances realism by recognizing picking directions and enabling complex strumming techniques triggered by MIDI input. It supports true doubling, allowing two guitar parts to play simultaneously with individual round-robin states and subtle timing variations to simulate natural performance dynamics. This approach creates rich, layered guitar sounds ideal for heavy metal and rock productions. Additionally, Heavier7Strings comes equipped with a comprehensive effect rack featuring various modules such as amplifiers, cabinets, overdrives, and delays, all designed to shape and refine the guitar tone.
The effect rack offers 16 amplifier styles ranging from heavy metal distortion to clean sounds, along with 66 built-in cabinet impulse responses representing diverse speaker and microphone setups. Users can customize the cabinet responses by importing their own WAV files and mix up to four impulse responses with adjustable delay, volume, and phase settings. To facilitate creativity, the plugin includes a library of 200 MIDI patterns spanning genres like metal, rock, pop, and ambient noise, complete with matching effect configurations. These patterns can be easily integrated into digital audio workstations, while users also have the flexibility to create and customize their own MIDI performances.
