Developed in collaboration with Harrison Consoles Ltd. and legendary engineer Bruce Swedien, this VST faithfully recreates the Harrison 32C four-band channel EQ from Bruce's iconic Harrison 32 Series console. Known for shaping numerous hit records by artists ranging from Abba to Sade, the Harrison 32 Series famously contributed to the sound of Michael Jackson's Thriller, the best-selling album of all time. This plugin captures the unique tonal character and precision of the original hardware, bringing classic analog warmth and musicality into modern digital productions.
The EQ features four overlapping parametric bands covering a broad frequency spectrum with fully sweepable frequency and gain controls. Unlike traditional parametric EQs, it employs a proprietary automatic bandwidth adjustment that dynamically shapes the Q curve for each band, ensuring smooth and natural sound sculpting. The low band can switch between peak and shelving modes for added flexibility, while high and low pass filters with 12 dB per octave slopes provide effective tone shaping and signal cleaning options. These features combine to deliver a powerful yet intuitive EQ workflow.
Additional enhancements exclusive to this digital version include gain control, phase reversal, and a global power switch, adding modern convenience to the classic design. The plugin also offers preset configurations inspired by Bruce Swedien's own settings, providing instantly usable tonal starting points. A streamlined SE version is available for higher instance counts, making it suitable for mixing sessions of varying complexity. This VST is a must-have for producers seeking the distinctive sound and heritage of the Harrison 32C EQ within their digital audio workstation.
