Haptic Perc is an innovative virtual instrument and effect plug-in designed to transform everyday objects into captivating percussion instruments. By using microphone input to trigger advanced physical percussion models, it creates a dynamic and tactile playing experience that closely mimics the authentic feel of real percussion instruments like congas and djembes. This plug-in is available for both Windows and Mac systems, offering two modes of use: as an effect plug-in that processes live audio input, and as a MIDI synth plug-in that responds to MIDI controllers.

Equipped with six adjustable parameters, Haptic Perc allows users to customize the characteristics of their virtual instruments, including surface texture, resonance, and size, enabling a wide range of sonic possibilities. The plug-in comes with a variety of initial presets such as Conga, Cuban Bongo, Surdo, and even unconventional sounds like Old Phone or Glass Bar, which can be further tailored to fit any creative context. Its built-in high-quality ambient reverb adds depth and space, enhancing the overall sound and realism.

Haptic Perc supports multiple formats including VST3 and AU, and runs as a standalone application on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, as well as Windows systems. It works seamlessly with standard microphones, including laptop built-ins, though higher quality results can be achieved with studio or contact microphones. The plug-in’s lightweight design ensures easy integration into any digital audio workstation, with fully automatable parameters for detailed control. Please note that Pro Tools is not supported.
