The sounds in Fractured Piano were created using unconventional techniques, such as vocalizing directly into the piano frame and manipulating cymbal felts on the strings to produce unique tonal effects. Additional textures were generated by placing metal objects on the piano strings, resulting in industrial and unpredictable harpsichord timbres. These raw samples were then extensively processed and synthesized within the SampleTank 4 engine to form a range of distinctive presets, each named after its original sample source.

Recorded on a Bösendorfer grand piano in Vienna, Austria, the library was developed with inspiration from avant-garde approaches, incorporating expert sound design and editing.
