DirectWave is a powerful multi-layer and multi-timbral sampler designed to handle complex sampling and playback tasks with ease. It supports real-time recording through direct input sampling and features a 16-part multi-timbral architecture that allows simultaneous use of multiple sounds. The sampler offers 128 voice polyphony along with unlimited zones per program, enabling rich and dynamic sound design. DirectWave supports a wide range of sample rates and provides high-quality audio interpolation for pristine sound reproduction.

Equipped with a comprehensive modulation matrix containing 16 freely assignable slots, DirectWave allows extensive automation and modulation of parameters and effects. It includes multiple envelope generators and LFOs that operate independently on zones and programs, along with automatable loop points and sample offsets to create expressive and evolving sounds. The sampler also features built-in insert effects such as ring modulation, bitcrushing, and phasing, as well as send effects like chorus, reverb, and delay, all of which can be controlled per zone for detailed sound shaping.

DirectWave’s user interface includes a multi-editor with mixer and modulation controls, plus a sample editor with destructive editing capabilities like cut, copy, paste, and trimming. It supports real-time sampling triggered by input thresholds and can automate sampling from other VST instruments. The sampler ensures project portability by embedding all sample data within project files. It offers broad compatibility with various sample formats including WAV, Soundfont, Akai, and Kontakt, along with efficient browsing and program selection tools to streamline workflow.
