China Ensemble captures the essence of a traditional Chinese big orchestra, an ensemble often larger in scale than a standard symphony orchestra. This instrument collection addresses the challenge of authentically representing the diverse combinations and settings found across different regions of China. Unlike typical offerings that provide only a superficial glimpse, this library delivers a comprehensive and detailed portrayal of a full traditional Chinese orchestra.

The development of this extensive collection began over a decade ago, driven by a meticulous plan to ensure accuracy and depth. Due to regional variations in instrument configurations, multiple ensembles of the same instruments were recorded with varying numbers of players. This ambitious project involved thousands of musicians, numerous recording sessions, and a large team of technicians, resulting in a highly detailed and immersive orchestral experience.

Featuring more than 10TB of uncompressed audio content, China Ensemble offers multi-velocity layers, round robin samples, and multiple microphone positions for each instrument section. This level of sampling detail provides expressive and dynamic performances, allowing composers and producers to create authentic Chinese orchestral music with rich textures and realistic articulations.
