BrainStormer is a freeware virtual analog synthesizer designed to deliver rich and dynamic sound creation. It features three stereo oscillators equipped with controls for retriggering, phase adjustment, waveform stretching, and stereo dephasing, allowing for intricate sound shaping. The synthesizer supports flexible frequency modulation and ring modulation, enhancing its ability to produce complex tones and textures.

The instrument includes a versatile filter section offering low-pass, band-pass, high-pass, peak, and notch filter types, each with dedicated envelope and key follow options to sculpt the sound precisely. Two LFOs provide a wide frequency range up to 2kHz, with features such as retriggering, BPM synchronization, phase control, clipping, and independent modulation amounts. Additionally, two modulation envelopes and extra modulator sources like wheel, pitch bend, and velocity expand the modulation possibilities, with 84 modulation destinations available for detailed sound design.

BrainStormer supports essential performance controls including panic, main volume, polyphony settings, note mode, portamento, and pitch bend. It employs internal 2x oversampling and is built with completely original DSP code to ensure high-quality audio processing. The synthesizer is available in both VST3 and VST2.4 formats, supporting 32-bit and 64-bit systems, making it compatible across a wide range of digital audio workstations.
