It offers two main modes: Pads view, where you can assemble your ideal drum kit in a simple 4x2 grid, and Sequencer view, featuring a 16-step grid for crafting your own patterns from the ground up. Whether you're starting fresh or prefer to use thousands of available presets, Beatmaker integrates seamlessly with your digital audio workstation (DAW) and supports external grooveboxes and MIDI controllers.

The drag-and-drop functionality allows you to transfer individual drum lanes or full sequences directly into your DAW, enabling easy refinement and experimentation without interrupting your creative flow. You can also import presets from Splice Desktop, trying them out with your own MIDI patterns, effects, and channel routing before deciding which ones to keep. This workflow emphasizes speed and flexibility, empowering you to build and customize your drum tracks with minimal effort.

Beatmaker includes quick access to essential controls like volume, pitch, distortion, mix, reverb, and delay, along with advanced per-lane effects such as filter, envelope, EQ, flanger, and distortion adjustments. The sequencer offers preset rhythm patterns like four-to-the-floor kicks and triplet hi-hats to accelerate the beat-making process.
