Bandecho is a plugin inspired by classic vintage tape echoes such as the Roland Space Echo and Watkins Copicat, enhanced with additional features for creative sound design. At its core, it offers a stereo tape echo capable of delays up to five seconds, which can be synced to your host's BPM and adjusted for quarter, dotted, and triplet note divisions. Unlike traditional tape echoes, Bandecho allows independent delay times for left and right channels, providing unique stereo effects. The plugin also includes filters that can produce oscillating tones and an LFO to modulate parameters like filter cutoff and panning, expanding its sonic capabilities beyond typical tape echo units.

The plugin features a dedicated drive section designed to add warmth or grit to the echo signal. This distortion unit can self-oscillate through its cutoff and resonance controls, generating internal tones that enrich the echo with vintage character. Additionally, Bandecho includes an effects rack that enhances the tape echo experience with elements like tape speed modulation to mimic tape head irregularities, a granulator for producing gritty textures, chorus for depth, and a comb filter that creates short delay reverbs on each echo tap. These effects contribute to a dynamic and textured sound palette, making the echoes feel alive and organic.

Bandecho’s complex delay architecture is built around multiple echo stages, including six additional echoes placed strategically along the signal chain. These echoes reflect different stages of processing—from the clean input signal to the distorted and filtered signals—allowing for intricate and expansive delay lines. The output section supports flexible routing options, enabling the plugin to be used as either a send or insert effect and providing separate outputs for all delay stages.
